OUR PROPOSALS

A green landscaped entrance from Trumps Green Road will lead through residential roads to a recreational space at the heart of the development.  Along the roads will be 71 high-quality homes, all set within an attractive landscape setting.

The mix of homes will range from 1 and 2 bedroom apartments, through to 4 and 5 bedroom family houses and will be designed to create a community atmosphere.  24 of the homes (35%) will be affordable, with 7 ear-marked for shared ownership and 17 affordable rent, in-line with planning policy.

The proposals will fit in with potential future development on the neighbouring site. This will enable local residents to have some assurance of the continuity between this and any future schemes and understand how they may be affected.

The landscaping of the site will be crucial for creating the desired ambiance which will help to provide an overall net-gain for local biodiversity. The majority of trees along the frontage with Trumps Green Road will be retained, along with its hedgerow, which will only be removed where entrances are required.  An ecological corridor will stretch along the northern and eastern boundaries with increased planting on the northern side. The existing hedgerow will be retained along the west of the development. Offsite ecological enhancement will include the creation of a new heathland habitat for reptiles.

Landscape Strategy Key Design Principles

  • Retain the majority of the existing trees to enhance natural screening as much as possible;
  • New tree, shrub and hedgerow species to comprise predominantly native species. Tree planting to include some flowering and fruiting species;
  • New planting designed to create wildlife margins and new habitats within the attenuation ponds;
  • Establish extensive species-rich wildflower meadows mixtures of differing species appropriate to the varying ground conditions;
  • Establish grassland of differing heights to accommodate a range of uses and enhance biodiversity;
  • SuDS drainage features to be designed to enable ecological enrichment by establishing wet and vegetated marginal zones;
  • Natural and integrated play area.
